On December 1, 1999, Jay-Z stabbed Lance Un” Rivera at the release party for Q-Tip’s Amplified album at the Kit Kat Klub. The incident arose over the alleged bootlegging of Jay-Z’s album, Vol. 3… Life and Times of S. Carter, before its release on December 28, 1999. In late 2001, Jay-Z pleaded guilty to a second-degree felony for assault and was sentenced to three years of probation.
(12/4/1999) The most recent of the three assaults is the Wednesday knife attack on Lance “Un” Rivera, president of Untertainment Records. A Manhattan Criminal Court complaint says Jay-Z slashed Rivera’s abdomen and stabbed him “more than once in the back with a knife.”
